Hackberry Hollow

The final pass for Volume 2 has been completed over the past two months. It seems that the most recent threats have had an impact on productivity.

Okay. We have the entire script written beginning to end and are working on a final pass before we sacrifice it to the test audience gods. I suspect that this will be accompanied by a great deal of wailing and gnashing of teeth on my part. They have explicit instructions to point out any flaw they find.

Just moments ago we finished our final pass of Volume 1! That means there are no plot holes, no notes, or any changes that we can think of before we place it upon the sacrificial alter smeared with our blood, sweat, and plot.

After flying underneath the radar, we present to you our current progress of the script for Hackberry Hollow. We’ve done a ton of work since the last time we posted our writing progress. Even though it’s been a while since we’ve posted a writing report (um, November), since that time we’ve almost written the entire last half of the script for the entire comic.

You heard me. *clackity clackity clack*

Alright. Now that I got that out of the way, here’s what we’ve been up to….

As posted previously, we officially resumed work on Hackberry Hollow this last Tuesday. Currently we are re-reading the entire story that we have so far with fresh eyes and marking the entire thing up with notes for things we need to fix, improve or smack each other upside the head for including.

Greetings loyal blog readers. If you’re reading this post on the day it was created then it’s probably a safe bet that you’re a loyal reader. Glen and I unanimously agreed to wait until the 2nd of April to post this as opposed to yesterday for reasons that are probably self apparent.

Given that the crunch to complete the software for The Animation Academy’s online program is behind us, and I’m officially graduating from college next week, we now have our ducks in a row to resume working on Hackberry Hollow on Tuesday, April 12th. That’ll give me a very badly needed vacation for two days.

Hopefully that’s soon enough to soothe my writing withdrawals.

We are counting down to the launch of The Animation Academy going online. Now it’s just two months away.

In other news, Adam got some new audio recording hardware. I used a different production technique during our last podcast that improved the overall audio quality, but also demonstrated the huge gap in quality between my recording hardware and Adam’s. As of today that was fixed.

This graph appears to suggest that things have been going slow, but that’s far from the truth. The past few weeks have been full of Quadrant I stuff. In addition to that we’ve also been busy working on our other Hackberry Hollow project: alternate sources of revenue.

We hit our halfway mark for the script writing process. It’s coming along!

We would also like to announce that when counting the number of completed chapters, one of us has to remove their shoes. Obviously we will need to change our methodology once we pass 40 chapters, and then once again when we pass 42 chapters, but for now this is working for us.

Yeah, the chapters we’ve been writing recently have been much shorter. In fact some were so short that we ended up merging them.
