This week we wanted to experiment a bit, so we decided to do a podcast this week. We talk about keeping a production journal (which is part of what this podcast is, it’s a record of where we are at right now), some of our current theories about story, and our process.
Even though we are writing like crazy (so far this week we finished the scripts for 3 chapters) I do still make some time for character design every once in a while, especially if the new characters/creatures we wrote for are freaking cool.
While we are talking about writing sprints, lets talk about writing software. At the moment all of us are living in different states so we have to do our writing work online. Luckily there’s some really great tools that allow us to work collaboratively in real time. And all of these programs definitely fall within our budget.
The part of the project we take the most seriously is the story. Sure, we all know that “story is king,” and even the writers who make some of our least favorite movies say the same thing. If chanting “story is king” doesn’t make a better story then what does?
