Prop Concept Art 2

Posted by Glen Moyes on Tuesday, 12 January, 2010

This is the start of the process of this particular prop design (we’ll be posting more finished designs of this prop later).

We’ve established Preston, the main character, as somewhat of a redneck. Nothing says redneck more than someone who lives in the wilderness in an old cabin, drives an rusty truck that barely holds itself together, but yet he also owns the best modern firearms that a civilian can legally buy.

“Best modern firearm? But where’s the scope?” you may say. Oh you of little faith. Preston is a redneck. He doesn’t need a scope.

Color Keys 1

Posted by Glen Moyes on Tuesday, 29 December, 2009

Over the past two weeks we’ve been revisiting the entire outline and fixing things in the story that were bugging us. In one of our most recent writing sessions—like, yesterday—after we had sworn that we had finished the work on the outline and all of our previous concerns were resolved—we took the input from our test audience and significantly reworked the first chapter. We added a new introduction that reveals a lot more information about the backstory and two of the characters which leads right into the previously written introduction.

The new introduction was so compelling that I had to do some color keys for it, so that’s what I’ve posted for today.

Robot Concept Art 4

Posted by Glen Moyes on Tuesday, 22 December, 2009

I’ve been working on more robot designs. Not all of the robots will look the same. There will actually be a lot if diversity in the robot designs because each one has a special task to do.

And what they want to do with a water heater is beyond me. I don’t know, maybe they’ll use it to launch satellites into space.

Vehicle Concept Art 9

For this concept we focused primarily on the logo design for MAPS (Mountain Area Paranormal Society). Two of us are graphic designers, and so we decided to have a little fun. We wanted to create a logo that doesn’t look terrible, but definitely looks cheap.

Undead Concept Art 1

Posted by Adam Weber on Tuesday, 24 November, 2009

Like the world we live in, the world of Hackberry Hollow is a very diverse place. In addition to the wide variety of cultures, belief systems and ethnicities, there are also varying levels of laziness. There’s the workaholics on one end of the spectrum, and at the other end there are people that just don’t want to do anything productive. Then there’s “so lazy you have to invent ways to show off your laziness.” For them, I present you the Undead Turkey Dinner.

Prop Concept Art 1

One of the aspects of the story for Hackberry Hollow are votive figures. These are sculptures that are used to remember the dead. We won’t get into the cultural significance as they apply to the story right now, but lets just say that they are significant enough that we are thinking about incorporating them into the new Hackberry Hollow logo.

More non-spoiler info about votive figures, and photos of Adam’s sculpture after the jump.

Today I would like to show some concept art from the newest member of the Hackberry Hollow art team, Shaun Williams. Shaun has been with Lumaglyph from the start, but only recently began submitting concept art into this project for consideration. Below is one of his proposed robot designs.
