Status Report: The Whole Buffalo

This graph appears to suggest that things have been going slow, but that’s far from the truth. The past few weeks have been full of Quadrant I stuff. In addition to that we’ve also been busy working on our other Hackberry Hollow project: alternate sources of revenue.

Going into this project we understood that having a successful business plan means having multiple sources of income (and no, a day job doesn’t count). This is especially important considering that Hackberry Hollow, as a web comic, will be free to read. Because the comic is free I would consider merchandise to be the primary source of income; it’s how a lot of other financially successful web comics make their money, but that may require a non-trivial financial risk and certainly a lot of momentum.

It can be tricky figuring out alternative sources of revenue that will compliment what you are doing. You don’t want to work on two completely different projects, but instead you want to “use every part of the buffalo.”
