Character Design 3: Wolf

Posted by Glen Moyes on Friday, 28 May, 2010 at 7:58 pm

This is more of a costume design exercise than anything else, but it has a character in it so why not call it a character design post.

We haven’t settled on a final design for this species yet (we all love the Tarsier though). Remember how I said that we moved the post schedule to Friday so I could get feedback from at least one professional character designer beforehand? Well, this design hasn’t yet because we spent this week meeting with Don Bluth instead of having class. I know, cry me a river. :)

One thing we’ve been doing a lot in Hackberry Hollow is taking two cultures and mixing them together. For this costume design (and everything else about their culture), we mixed traditional Japanese with Native American design, specifically the form and function of Japanese design with the patterns and color of Native American cultures.

This design reminds me of Animal Crossing.
