Environmental Concept Art 1
I reckon it’s time to start hucking out some art for you all. As we develop the art direction and final designs for Hackberry Hollow we’ll be posting concept art for the different environments, objects, and eventually character designs. Our plan is to post something for you to see on the blog once a week, so we’ll keep good on our commitment.
This is a quick painting of one of the environments we have planned. This digital painting, as well as the other concept art we’ll be posting here in the future, are done alla prima: painted as quickly as possible and in one sitting. I paint just enough so that the form and most importantly the feeling of the scene is communicated, and then go on to paint something else because there’s a lot of stuff that needs to be designed before we can start working on the comic book pages.
Speaking of art, the reaction to the voodoo plushie has been very positive, so thanks for all the grins and comments. More hilarity and weaponized cuteness is forthcoming.

Nice art work!!! I love the way you do your art work and different contacts from light to dark. I totally love the sky how it look like including how the houses are and the light. 😀
