Status update

In light of hitting the one year mark on having the blog up, I thought it would be fun to do an update on the status of the project. We started the blog when we were about a year into the project. Now, over two years in the making, the script for volume 1 is written and we’re writing volume 2 (out of 5), Shane is working on layouts for the first chapter, Glen is experimenting with character design, and Austin and I are working on a… super secret project in the background. (insert nerdy smiley face here)

Here’s the good news: By the time our blog has its second birthday we’ll have the comic out. That means we do expect the release to be this year. The amount of time put in by each team member is increasing and the rate at which progress is being made is accelerating, because as you might imagine, everyone on board is really excited about the work that’s being done.

Of course you may be asking why this is taking as long as it is. Learning curve aside, Hackberry Hollow is setting the bar for our future projects; and as artists and writers, there’s a great deal of love and care that’s going into the work. Our blog posts should be a good indicator of the intense attention to detail, and even then we only post the most interesting and least spoilerific stuff.

It’s worth the wait. You’re in for a treat.
